I'm looking to see if anybody has advice regarding this. No, I'm not moving away from pony stuff, but I do want to know how to more effectively promote my original works whenever I decide to make them.

Every time I upload a pony wallpaper, it goes straight to Equestria Daily, Derpiborru, my little wallpaper, the ponypapers subreddit, a bazzillion deviantart brony groups, etc. I don't have much of that for my original art and fractal work. In fact, I have almost zero connections outside of the brony fandom.

So basically, I want to know if anybody here is familiar with large tumblr art blogs, facebook pages, or even legit art websites that I could submit some of my stuff to. I've tried searching and couldn't find anything but a couple of random blogs, most of which either didn't allow the type of digital art I do, or were completely out of my league. It's very disheartening sometimes... :(

Any suggestions are appreciated :D

The truth of the matter is that you're interacting with your "market" more than you believe- Us bronies don't do all brony things all the time, and when we're not, we act as a marvelous place to advertize goods. If we have experience with a content creator and we commission a piece without it being pony-centered, then the commissioner is (assuming they had a good experience) going to be recommending you from their non-pony experience rather than a pony oriented one. While I hear a lot of people complain about the restrictiveness of the fandom (which is certainly true in some cases), I see it as a completely viable springboard.

Although I guess that brings up another question- how hard are you trying to make this into a career? If you're not going for a career, what do you want to become of your skill-set?
